Spice up your next party with drunken lechon
It's roasted pig with a kick of beer!
(SPOT.ph) If there was ever a staple in every Filipino party, it would be lechon, with everyone wanting to take first dibs on its glistening, crunchy skin and succulent meat. Leonardo’s Lechon takes that festive feel up a notch by infusing craft beer into their roasted pig to come up with something spectacular: the Drunken Lechon.
The Drunken Lechon (P500 plus the price of your order of lechon tagalog) is a lip-smacking mix of sweet and spicy, marinated with Pedro Brewcrafters' Elementary, English Ale, which is described as a "full roasted malt with subtle coffee flavors." The meat is then stuffed with onions, garlic, leeks, lemongrass, cinnamon laurel, and a heap of chili for an added trail of heat. Slowly roasted to perfection over wood charcoal and bamboo, the skin is crisp, flavor-packed, and a delight to crack open.
If you need an excuse to cheat on your diet, just think of the upcoming holidays!
Leonardo’s Lechon is at 89 J. Basa Street, San Juan City. For more information, visit Leonardo’s Lechon’s official Facebook page.
