Cafe Ysabel to close next year
We're going to miss their Strawberry Shortcake
(SPOT.ph) For 30 years, Cafe Ysabel was one of Manila's go-to destinations for those dates that needed some extra romance. Apart from the rustic interiors and quiet but easily accessible location, renowned chef Gene Gonzalez's elegantly prepared dishes were perfect for any kind of occasion. The ancestral home-turned-restaurant has become a part of many Filipino families' cherished memories, so many were shocked when Cafe Ysabel announced that they are closing their doors in April 2017.
We will surely miss our Cafe Ysabel favorites, like their Paella Sulipeña, Truffle Pizza, and their signature Strawberry Shortcake (which made it to our Top 10 Strawberry Cakes in 2015). If you're feeling nostalgic as well, Cafe Ysabel encourages everyone to share their Cafe Ysabel memories on Instagram with the hashtag #ILoveCafeYsabel. We're crossing our fingers they'll reopen soon.
Cafe Ysabel is at 455 P. Guevarra Street, San Juan City.
