Main Street’s new Steak and Gorgonzola pizza will have you coming back for more

( Chef Adam Tan of Main Street is not one to rest on his laurels. His buttermilk fried chicken consistently ranks high on our Top 10 Fried Chicken in Manila list, but it looks like he’s gunning to top more lists with the latest additions to Main Street’s menu.

Take for instance the five pizza flavors he’s rolling out. With pizza being entirely new to the menu, Chef Adam and his team are pulling out all the stops. “We always want to be unique in what we serve,” the chef says, explaining that he gets inspiration from his yearly travels abroad. So don’t expect your basic pepperoni or four-cheese pizza here.



Breakfast Pizza


Look at that perfectly runny yolk!


What makes a good breakfast? Bacon, eggs, and hash browns...on pizza. Yup, you read that right. Main Street has concocted the Breakfast Pizza (P260), complete with a wobbling sunny-side-up egg that they put in midway through cooking to give you that perfectly runny yolk. Great way to satisfy your protein requirement for the day, right?



The Italian


Understandably called The Italian (P290), the mozzarella-covered pizza is an innovation in itself. A glance at the slices of Italian sausage, yellow onions, and fennel tops will make you expect spicy notes, but spoiler alert! You’ll encounter delightful hints of sweetness instead.


Bacon and Rosemary


Don’t let the Bacon and Rosemary (P280) pizza’s looks fool you—there’s a reason why this is the chef’s personal favorite. While the rosemary gives the pizza a pleasantly fresh, peppery taste, it’s the honey sauce that makes this dish the front-runner among the pizza flavors. Oily in consistency, the honey sauce lends a uniquely sweet tang to the pizza, and we’re betting you’ll be asking for more of it at first bite. 



Seafood Lovers


The Seafood Lovers (P360) pizza is a feast for the eyes and the palate. Pescetarians will delight in the assortment of mussels, juicy prawns, and soft fish fillets in marinara sauce. Basil, cheese, and tomatoes complete this savory pizza.


Steak and Gorgonzola


The Steak and Gorgonzola (P350) pizza will prove to be a treat for the especially hungry. Topped with succulent slices of steak and liberal chunks of gorgonzola, this dish is particularly filling. We like how the crisp freshness of the arugula balances the pungent flavors of the cheese and balsamic reduction. We’re predicting this dish will be high on your list the next time you visit Main Street.



The Paseo


The Paseo (P270) is inspired by a famous sandwich served in the Seattle-based restaurant, Paseo Caribbean Food. Perfect for sharing, The Paseo is practically bursting with pulled pork, romaine lettuce, and caramelized onions, and slathered with garlic mayo. Surprising sprigs of cilantro add a citrusy zing to every bite.



Spicy Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger


Buttermilk fried chicken is always a good idea, but instead of pairing it with rice, try it spicy and wedged inside a thick bun. Main Street’s Spicy Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger (P260) is a lot like a buffalo chicken sandwich, and it's sure to hit the spot with its generous serving of fries.


Italian Sausage Penne


Craving pasta? Try the Italian Sausage Penne (P290). Mixed in sweetish tomato sauce made with cream and white wine and garnished with basil, you’ll find that every forkful comes with big slices of Italian sausage.



Miso Mustard-Glazed Salmon


Salmon is always a safe bet, but this one is definitely a winner. The Miso Mustard-Glazed Salmon (P390) thrills with its tender flesh and topped crust. Intended for the Asian palate, the dish comes with rice mixed with soy sauce shallots and chives.


Apple Crumble


For dessert, sink your spoon into the delectably crunchy Apple Crumble (P220). The clean, sharp taste of the apple is offset by the sweetness of the crumble and vanilla ice cream, making the dish a refreshing finale to a satisfying meal.


Excited to try the new additions? Note that they will be rolled out in early February and will be initially available in the Kapitolyo branch only. So yeah, be prepared to discover new favorites!
