Attention, coffee junkies: Kyoto’s % Arabica Coffee is opening soon in Bonifacio Global City
We are in tears.
(SPOT.ph) The rumors are true— % Arabica Coffee is arriving on our glorious Philippine shores. At the W City Center in Bonifacio Global City, to be exact. Founded by Kenneth Shoji along with World Latte Art champion Junichi Yamaguchi and architect Masaki Kato, they opened % Arabica Coffee’s flagship store in Higashiyama, Kyoto in 2014. The café currently has eight branches worldwide and is opening 14 more this year.
In January 2017, % Arabica Philippines’ official Instagram page confirmed it through a photo of what appears to be no other than Kenneth himself, signing the master franchise contract for the brand’s first-ever branch here. The caption read: “It’s official! Today, we signed the master franchise contract for Philippines! % Arabica will open our flagship store in Manila later this year!”
To feed our curious coffee-loving souls, they then posted a couple more teasers the following weeks, including a raw photo showing the construction site tagged under the location W City Center. One thing’s for sure: this branch will have a beautiful high ceiling.
Of course, we had to ask when the opening date is just so we could sleep at night. “We’ll open hopefully by September. We’ll definitely drop a line when the day comes,” % Arabica Coffee Philippines said in a text message to SPOT.ph.
IT. IS. OFFICIAL. Who can sleep with this excitement? We can’t wait!
