( Have you ever been to a place that looks like it’s under some sort of magic spell and every meal has a touch of whimsy? We have. Aptly named Another Story, this restaurant boasts an eclectic vibe with elaborate interiors that will instantly transport you to another world. It’s like stepping into the pages of a beautiful fairy tale.





Chef Ica Manalo Sebastian, the same owner of Café Voi La in Crosswinds, Tagaytay, created this lovely restaurant in Evia Mall. While the ambience—a good contrast between understated sophistication and playfulness—is unmistakably similar in both restaurants, the passionate chef said that this one would have to be another story (hence the name).


Every corner is filled with cute, quirky things—the kind of stuff that will make you miss having that child-like wonder, and will inspire you to travel more. The walls are filled with quotes, and the chairs are splashed with every color in the rainbow. There are also intricate lamps and beautiful mirrors.



On the menu, Chef Ica has a letter for every diner saying, “I learned to cook as I learned to talk, as our cook took care of me since I was two days old,” and then she tells a story about how she used to sit on the kitchen counter and watch their cook prepare their meals. For someone who started her culinary journey that young, it's no wonder that she chose to have a happy mix of different comfort food for Another Story’s menu.



Three Kinds of Mushroom Soup



Another Story Salad


Did we mention each item has its own story, too? The Three Kinds of Mushroom Soup (P325), for instance, tells the tale of how she fell in love with the dish when their family spent one summer in a tiny town in Luberon, France. This one has a tasty mix of shiitake, portobello, and button mushrooms. It’s velvety and creamy, just a great start to any meal.


Another Story Salad (P595) prepares your palate for a rich main course. It has grilled prawns, shiitake mushrooms, and Parmesan cheese on a bed of romaine and their special dressing. You can also ask for walnuts to go with your salad.


Hanger Steak



Roast Pork Belly


Steak lovers should try the Hanger Steak (P595) topped with a frites béarnaise sauce of café de Paris butter, mushroom sauce, butter parsley rice, and garden vegetables. There’s also the Roast Pork Belly (P495) if you want a filling meal, which has mushroom gravy and applesauce served with your choice of potato au gratin, buttered rice, or mashed potatoes. The moist tender pork goes well with the sweet and tangy apple flavor.


Vongole Manila Clams

If you’re craving pasta and seafood, you’ll never go wrong with their Vongole Manila Clams (P395). It’s a light and tasty pasta infused with garlic in olive oil simmered in broth and white wine. The briny juice from the clams definitely makes this dish more flavorful.



Another Story also has an all-day brunch menu with different kinds of light to heavy breakfast meals. If you have an enormous appetite, order the Another Story Big Breakfast (P495) which comes with mushrooms, ham, baked beans, bacon, country sausage, and two eggs.

Of course, a meal wouldn't be complete without a bite of their decadent desserts! Everyone raves about the Salted Caramel Cheesecake (P215) and one taste will make you see why. The creamy cheesecake and sweet caramel taste with a salty finish are guaranteed to please kids and adults alike. You can also treat your taste buds to the unique flavor of Ube Cheesecake (P215). Order the Iced Thai Coffee (P170) for a refreshingly delicious drink to complement your meal.


Another Story is a restaurant that delivers on taste and style. And you know how they say, “Everyone has a story to tell"? Well, this restaurant has a great story just waiting to be discovered and retold.
