This neighborhood Japanese joint has bento boxes for less than P200
Have a filling lunch on a budget.
(SPOT.ph) The Japanese mastered the art of packed lunch when they invented the bento. Each bento box has rice plus your choice of viand and various side dishes. Some creative folks even add their own artsy touch, making little rabbit sausages and vegetable flowers.
Of course, not everyone has the time to prep their own lunch box—thankfully, there are restaurants like Takashi Japanese Cuisine that have an entire menu of bento boxes for you to choose from. While Takashi has always made their bento boxes available for take-out, they've recently made their sets available for dine-in customers too, so you can also try their new menu items (available starting this June), like the dangerously spicy Volcano Ramen.
Mix Tempura Bento
Takashi offers 15 different sets to choose from, so you can have a different box every day. Bestsellers are the Chicken Teriyaki (P195), which comes with chicken sautéed in teriyaki sauce, Beef Yakiniku (P225) with beef strips sautéed in yakiniku sauce, and Mix Tempura Bento (P245) with seafood and vegetable tempura. Each bento box comes with tamago, a sushi roll, veggie noodles and rice topped with nori for a complete feast on a budget.
The bento boxes are only available at Takashi Makati, G/F Elizabeth Place Building, 332 H.V. Dela Costa Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City.
