10 Perfect Places for Breakfast in Makati
Eggs, waffles, rice, and more!
(SPOT.ph) It’s a known fact: Makati’s too hectic to declare a specific time for breakfast. With cubicle-dwellers missing a meal or two in between their busy work lives, it’s been a common understanding that having your bacon and waffles at 3 p.m. is completely acceptable and fine. Sleep or no sleep, here are some tried-and-tested restaurants that can give you exactly what you need when you’re in the mood for some good ol’ morning food.
Bean & Yolk
Bean & Yolk has become one of the choice spots of many—not only for their cozy atmosphere ideal for chilling, but also for their all-day breakfast dishes. Their house specialties include the Chorizo Mama (P250) with fried egg, cheddar, a homemade chorizo patty, barbecue mayo, and brioche; and Farmer John (P195), which almost has the same ingredients but with ham and caramelized onions. Don’t leave without trying the Instagram-worthy Missus (P185), a savory meal made of the fluffiest scrambled eggs, cheddar, Sriracha mayo, arugula, caramelized onions, and a buttery brioche.
Bean & Yolk is at G/F Bel-Air Soho Suites, Polaris Street, Poblacion.
Cartel Coffee + Deli
Opening at 6:30 a.m. daily, this resto-deli is ideal for early risers as well as people who want to wind down after a long day’s work. Nestled in Salcedo Village and surrounded by hotels, residential and office buildings, Cartel Coffee + Deli has that classic, neighborhood vibe that feels so relaxing. Sample their various-flavored omelettes, which can really perk up anyone’s mood, with or without coffee (but we also suggest you order a cup because they have excellent beans, which they get from Yardstick Coffee).
Cartel Coffee + Deli is at 119 L.P. Leviste Street, Salcedo Village.
Dean & DeLuca

Their all-day breakfast menu includes the soul-satisfying Warm Croissant Pudding (P360) served with salted caramel, mixed fruits, and warm milk. Feeling something local? They also have the Angus Beef Tapa (P550), which comes with parsley pesto rice, sunny-side-up egg, and homemade ricotta cheese.

Equally photogenic are their breakfast dishes served in filling quantities. Regulars rave about their Sweet and Spicy Tuyo (P275) with salty dried fish drenched in its own sweet and spicy sauce. Another is their Yin & Yang Champorado (P275) that’s made of rich Belgian dark chocolate and served with toasted dilis that adds remarkable contrast to the dish.
