Birdhouse's Bacon Mac & Cheese Chicken Wings Give You Two Favorites in One
This is the food fusion you didn't know you needed.
(SPOT.ph) Any fried-chicken fan should try Birdhouse at Uptown Mall's The Food Hall at least once, though their lipsmacking golden fried chicken guarantees many return visits. The chicken place has always been known for being playful with their menu, resulting in yummy dishes like the Salted Egg Lava Chicken Sandwich and sauces like Truffle Ketchup. The latest addition on their menu is still, of course, fried chicken: Jumbo Wings (P199/six pieces, P395/12 pieces) to be exact, and the flavors are just as creative as everything else you can find at Birdhouse.
Bacon Mac & Cheese
Cheese & Caramel Popcorn
"We wanted to offer something unique with our chicken wings," says co-owner Louie Ngo, "but we also wanted the familiarity to be there." The results are familiar snacks and sides remixed into chicken wings: the Bacon Mac & Cheese, with creamy cheese sauce plus macaroni and bacon bits, and the Cheese & Caramel Popcorn or chicken wings, some coated with cheese powder and the others with caramel sauce, all with popcorn stuck all over them. There are some more traditional flavors, too, but still with that playful Birdhouse touch: Pepper Cream, which will remind you of salt-and-pepper wings but punchier, Roasted Garlic Parmesan, the garlic flavor made more pronounced through torching, sweet-tangy Smokehouse BBQ, and K-Bomb, with a sour-spicy flavor reminiscent of Buffalo wings. It still has everything you look for in the perfect chicken wing, but the flavors make it an entirely new and exciting experience.
Birdhouse is at 4/F The Food Hall, Uptown Mall, Uptown Bonifacio.
