Fried Cookie Dough Is a Movie-Snack Gamechanger

Like Wicked Oreos but leveled up.

( Haven't had doughnuts at the movies? Neither have we. But Overdoughs is on a mission to change that and it doesn't look like they're taking no for an answer.

Together with their sister rolled ice cream stall, Elait, they've set up shop by the cinemas at Ayala Malls The 30th, expanding beyond a stall for a space that lets you sit back and relax before your movie. Plus, they've partnered up with good ol' Toby's Estate for the accompanying coffee. There doesn't seem to be any craving they intend to leave unsatisfied.

Cookie Dough

For one, Overdoughs has added Cookie Dough (P160) to their arsenal of Things To Make Your Doctor Extremely Concerned. Do you remember when Wicked Oreos were a thing, and everybody wanted a piece? Take that memory, and multiply it by 10. These fried cookie-dough balls border on crazily sweet in the best way possible, and with chocolate chip as your second option, there's really no escape. You will be so awake for that movie.

Artisanal rolled ice cream isn't quite top-of-mind when it comes to cinema munchies (cinemunchies? Are we on to something?) either, but Elait has given it a place and bumped it up a few notches.

Dragon Pavlova

While you could still get your favorites like the Strawberry Trifle at P180/cup, trying something a little more unusual doesn't hurt. The Dragon Pavlova (P200/cup) isn't as menacing as it sounds, but tastes fresh like the dragonfruit it's named for. Plus, you can pretend it's healthy because it's got kiwi in it! It goes nicely with the meringue bits.

It's worth noting that they don't intend to stop here. These two establishments aren't looking for permission, and frankly, with what they're serving up, they're not going to need it.

Overdoughs and Elait are at 3/F Ayala Malls The 30th, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City.
