This Popular Tokyo Restaurant Is Bringing Their Cult-Favorite Kobe Beef Sandwiches to Manila

It's one of the most expensive sandwiches in the world.

( How much are you willing to pay for a sandwich? Tokyo-based Wagyumafia is testing the limits by bringing their Kobe beef-cutlet sandwich, one of the world's most expensive sandwiches, to Manila, with their first branch opening in Bonifacio Global City in June.




Their most-prized gyu-katsu sandwich—currently going for USD 180 or a whopping P9,000 at their San Francisco outpost—is made with premium Kobe beef that's breaded katsu-style, fried, and placed between white bread with a soy-vinegar sauce. The Manila outpost of Wagyumafia will have three sections that'll not only serve sandwiches, but they'll also have a yakiniku restaurant, a butcher shop, and a members-only club, with dining done kaiseki-style. Co-founder Hisato Hamada shares that all beef and most ingredients will be flown in from Japan.
