Thank us later because we've listed all the noteworthy places that'll help you keep your cool.
Already a pop-culture phenomenon in South Korea, Kiss the Tiramisu joins the slew of great eateries in Salcedo Village to bring something new to the table: Tiramisu soft-serve. The ice-cream parlor has branches all over Asia for good reason—their treats are addictively indulgent. Besides their classic flavors such as the Original Tiramisu (P265), with mascarpone cheese and chocolate cookie crumble, matcha devotees will enjoy the Matcha (P285), generously drizzled with matcha sauce and dusted with green tea powder.
Kiss the Tiramisu is at Three Central, Valero Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City.
This low-key, cult-favorite joint in Poblacion originally started as a café-slash-brownie counter in BF Homes before expanding to Makati’s hippest district. Now a full-fledged restaurant, Bucky’s still offers their all-time favorites, including the ultra-creamy Soft-Serve Ice Cream (P100), which you can top with various toppings like marshmallows, salted-caramel sauce, dark chocolate chips, and their heavenly crushed brown butter polvoron.
Bucky's is at 5666 Don Pedro Street, Poblacion, Makati City.
Seol & Bean
Summer may be too hot to handle, but at least there are a chock-full of icy treats to choose from in the city. Enter bingsu, which some may recognize as the Korean version of the beloved halo-halo. This shaved-ice dessert can be delightfully light, depending on the toppings you pick. Seol & Bean offers an assortment of summery flavors, like the Mango Bingsu (P190/single, P260/double), which has cheesecake cubes, vanilla ice cream, and of course, fresh mango pieces! It’s so good, it’s included in our last Top 10 Mango Bingsu list.
Seol & Bean is at G/F The Fort Strip, Bonifacio Global City.
If you think Sweet Ecstasy is only good at making cheeseburgers, think again. Ditch the soda or iced tea when you’re here because their milkshakes are as noteworthy as their savory eats, and probably the best complement to their meaty creations. The Classic Vanilla Milkshake (P160) is one you shouldn’t miss—creamy, milky, and smooth like melted ice cream, this version isn’t too sweet, which makes it perfect whether you’re having it after or during your meal!
Sweet Ecstasy has branches at Jupiter Street, Makati City and Uptown Parade, Uptown Bonifacio.
Farmacy has somewhat become a dessert institution in Bonifacio Global City and rightfully so—the botika-themed ice cream parlor is known for their charming and cozy vibe as well as their sinful frozen delights. Come here for your afternoon ice-cream run or your late-night milkshake fix, either way, you’ll find something to feed your cravings. Their milkshake is their best-kept secret; have the Very Thick Strawberry Milkshake (P260), which uses real strawberries and handcrafted ice cream.
Farmacy is at G/F Net Lima Building, 4th Avenue corner 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City.
Don’t be fooled by their name—Gelare is no stranger to excellent ice cream. Often mistaken as a gelato shop, the ice-cream joint is popular for their American-Italian icy blends, which are specifically made to be extra thick and filling. Their Wild Strawberry (P120/scoop) flavor flaunts real strawberry bits, while the Peanut Butter 'n Brownie (P120/scoop) is laden with nutty chocolate chunks. You’ll be licking your spoon clean in no time!
Gelare is at 3/F Uptown Mall, Uptown Bonifacio.
The brainchild of creative geniuses and chefs Miko Aspiras and Kristine Lotilla, Freezer Burn can be your go-to cold-dessert joint for everything fun and unique. (If their names sound familiar, it’s probably because they’re also the same people behind Scout’s Honor, Le Petit Soufflé, and Poison Coffee and Doughnuts.) Don’t miss their signature Ketchup Mayo (P225) ice cream, which you can also order with salt-and-pepper fries. It tastes exactly like ketchup and mayonnaise, but in ice-cream form, so better tag along your adventurous friends when you plan to visit.
Freezer Burn is at Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City.
St. Louis House of Fine Ice Cream & Dessert weren’t kidding when they decided to add “fine” to their name. The dessert shop has everything your sweet tooth could ever want—from cakes and sweet waffles to ice cream and churros. One of their best-selling confections is the Eton Mess (P380), a beautiful hodgepodge of strawberries, raspberries, crushed meringue, and ice cream. It’s fruity and sweet, just how summer-friendly treats are supposed to be.
St. Louis House of Fine Ice Cream & Dessert is at Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City.
Makati and BGC do not hold back on icy eats. Apart from ice cream, the cities also have a lot of gelato places to choose from. Gelatofix is the new kid on the block, serving traditional gelato blends and not-so-traditional food inventions. Take, for one, the Tiramisu-lato (P260), which already looks impressive at first glance. Reminiscent of a deconstructed tiramisu, it’s made of coffee-infused ladyfingers, fresh strawberries, a rich chocolate sauce, and two scoops of their tasty gelato.
Gelatofix is at G/F BGC Corporate Center, 11th Avenue corner 30th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City.
BONO Gelato has got to be one of the O.G. gelato parlors in the Metro. Their offerings, which start at P130 per scoop, are a mix of classic and new flavors. Some of their must-tries are Pistachio, Taho, and Butterbeer. If you want something more filling and out-of-the-box, grab the Gelato Cookie (P95/solo), which comes in three mind-blowing flavors: Vanilla, Salted Caramel, and Milo Dinosaur. Each scoop is sandwiched between two sweet handcrafted cookies to make it even more special.
BONO Gelato has branches at SM Aura Premier, Bonifacio Global City; and SM Makati, Glorietta Complex, Makati City.
