Nutella, Chips Ahoy, and More: Krispy Kreme Flavors We Wish We Had in Manila
Crossing our fingers!
(SPOT.ph) Though we'll always love the melt-in-your-mouth, pillow-soft Original Glazed doughnuts, we can't help but feel just a tiny bit jealous whenever we hear of new exclusive flavors by Krispy Kreme that are only available outside Manila. We round up a few of them that might just tempt you to book a flight for these tasty treats—or join us in wishing they bring these to the Metro!
Chips Ahoy Cookie Doughnut and Nutter Butter Twist Doughnut
If you love Krispy Kreme's classic Oreo doughnut, you're probably green with envy right now. These two takes on the classic cookies were part of Krispy Kreme U.S.'s limited-edition cookie collection. The Nutter Butter Twist Doughnut resembles the classic peanut-butter cookie with Original Glazed shaped into a twist then covered in peanut-butter icing and Nutter Butter cookie chunks. Though the Chips Ahoy Doughnut probably takes the cake (or should we say cookie?) with an actual chocolate chip cookie on top of a classic doughnut filled with cookie dough-flavored cream.
This was the doughnut that made waves in social media for obvious reasons: It is, after all, a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut filled with gooey Nutella. Need we say more? Sadly, this baby is only available in the Dominican Republic. (For now? We're crossing our fingers.)
Reese Peanut Butter Doughnuts
With a doughnut stuffed with Reese peanut-butter sauce and topped with chocolate icing, Reese Peanut Butter Cup chunks, and vanilla cookie crumbs, the Reese Peanut Butter Doughnut sounds like a sugar high and crash we'll gladly welcome. This used to be only available in Australia but die-hard Krispy Kreme lovers in the U.S. started a petition to bring it in, which worked, so you know what to do now.
Premium Sakura Doughnut
Given Japan's love for their cherry blossoms, we're not surprised this doughnut exists. Part of Krispy Kreme Japan's line of luxury doughnuts, this gorgeous doughnut sandwich is filled with cherry paste, plus a strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry purée plus a dollop of whipped cream for a sweet-tart treat. The picture-perfect pink glaze is an added bonus.
This special doughnut flavor is actually available in the Philippines, though you'll have to fly to Davao to get it. Krispy Kreme Davao will be launching doughnuts with a special glaze made from dark chocolate by Malagos Chocolate, a local chocolate brand that uses single-origin cacao beans. We imagine it's perfect with coffee.
