Hawker Chan Is Finally Opening in Manila This Month

The cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant in the world is bringing their famous soya chicken rice to the Metro!

(SPOT.ph) In 2016, Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle made waves when it received a Michelin star, making their soya chicken rice the cheapest Michelin-starred meal for that year. The humble hawker stall is a must-visit for any tourist in Singapore and it's successful enough to open a dine-in version, Liao Fan Hawker Chan. But, even if a trip to Singapore isn't happening any time in the next few months, you can soon find out what makes Hawker Chan such a hit with the opening of their first Manila branch in SM Mall of Asia on July 26.

Hawker Chan, run by Chef Chan Hong Meng, is famous for their soya chicken rice. In an interview with SPOT.ph, Chef Chan shares that while he is sticking to his tried-and-tested recipes at his first-ever Manila outpost, he will also be introducing new dishes like fried chicken. "Maybe as time goes by, there'll new additional menu [options] coming up." Be sure to be there early because, judging from their Singapore branches, lines can get really long!

Hawker Chan opens at G/F Entertainment Mall, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
