BAKE's New Flavor Might Just Get You Eating Japanese Cheese Tarts Again

The Hokkaido-born dessert stall has something exciting for citrus lovers.

( Dainty yet also satisfyingly cheesy, Japanese cheese tarts were once the rage for good reason. While not as buzzy nowadays, the treats have gained a pretty solid following among fans—they make the perfect bite-sized snacks, after all. BAKE Cheese Tart from Hokkaido may have entered the fray pretty late, but they quickly stood out for their delicately light cheese tarts. Many have become fans of their classic but they've got a new flavor that can become an easy favorite: The Lemon Cheese Tart With Honey (P99/piece, P570/box of six).

Citrus notes from lemon add brightness to BAKE's new cheese tart, made using a mix of three kinds of cheeses from Hokkaido and France. Honey adds a subtle sweetness that complements the buttery crust. And, as if the new flavor wasn't enough, the Lemon Cheese Tart With Honey also comes in a vibrant box reminiscent of ocean waves, done by Japanese artist Meguru Yamaguchi in his signature brushwork. It's the perfect excuse to grab a box.

BAKE Cheese Tart is at G/F The Podium, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City; Level R2, Power Plant Mall, Makati City; and G/F SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. The Lemon Cheese Tart With Honey is available until November 2018.
