This New Chocolate Cake Is Made With Malagos Chocolate
The award-winning local chocolate brand is the star of this dessert.
(SPOT.ph) There's no shortage of chocolate cakes in Manila—whether you like them light or fudgy, milky or bittersweet, there's definitely a cake for you. If you're serious about your chocolate and prefer a cake that really allows good chocolate to shine, you'll want to check out this newcomer from Max's Corner Bakery. Dubbed the Malagos Chocolate Cake (P490/five inches), it's made with Malagos Chocolate—the award-winning brand of local "tree-to-bar", single-origin chocolate that employs cacao from Davao—in the form of a moist and fudgy chocolate cake layered with a dark chocolate mousse.

If you're more for caramel than chocolate, you'll be happy to know that Max's Corner Bakery now also offers their take on Caramel Cake (P379/five inches), with layers of a soft vanilla chiffon, buttercream, and a rich caramel custard icing.

And if mocha is your jam, you'll want to try the Triple Treat (P699/eight inches). It's got three layers of chiffon cake in chocolate fudge, mocha, and vanilla flavors, and is crowned with a ganache drip and chocolate tiles.
