You Can Get Easy, Tiger's Tom Yum + Birdhouse Fried Chicken Delivered From One Website
Plus Vietnamese eats from Ca Phe Saigon, Korean favorites from Kaya, and more!
(SPOT.ph) It's been a couple of months since we've been in lockdown mode (to put it lightly), and if you're anything like us, you probably miss hanging out with your friends and grabbing dinner. One reliable place that was pretty popular for doing that? The Corner Market Food Hall at The Podium. With a wide variety of food stalls offering everything from Thai to Mexican to Korean eats at affordable prices, what's not to love? While we're all still waiting for things to transition back to "normal", you can still get your fix of your favorite dishes from the food hall through the Corner Market's newly launched website. It allows you to place advanced orders for dine-in and pickup, as well as order for delivery, and accepts payments made via e-wallet and credit card. Here are some of the dishes you can order from the website:
Easy, Tiger's Tom Yum
It doesn't get any more soul-soothing than a hot bowl of tom yum. Easy, Tiger offers the All Shrimp (P210) and All Shrimp with Noodles (P240) versions, so you can choose depending on how hungry you are. Either option comes with an oh-so-flavorful broth that'll have you going for extra rice.
Birdhouse's Fried Chicken
Birdhouse makes some of the tastiest fried chicken around, and you can enjoy it a couple of ways. Our suggestion? Go for one of their Barnyard set meals, like the Barnyard B (P203) with one piece signature Birdhouse fried chicken, chicken skin, and your choice of side and sauce; or the Barnyard C (P253) with one piece signature Birdhouse fried chicken, chicken skin, and your choice of two sides one sauce.
Ca Phe Saigon's Banh Mi
Among the many dishes Vietnam is known for is bánh mì, their take on a sandwich with fillings such as meats, pickled vegetables, and more. Ca Phe Saigon offers their Bánh Mì (P190/regular, P270/special) with your choice of egg, chicken, pork, or beef fillings.
Ube Champorado from Friends and Family Express
Sure, you've had the chocolate version, but have you tried ube champorado? Friends and Family Express' Our Famous Ube Champorado (P192.50) delivers purple yam's nutty flavor in a warm and hearty format. Topped with danggit for a savory contrast, it could very well make you a convert.
Lobster at Catch of the Day
It's never too early to celebrate with lobster, in our book. At Catch of the Day, you can get Lobster (P660) cooked your way (choose from grilled, seared, of baked) with your choice of a side (rice, French fries, or mashed potatoes) and a sauce (teriyaki, Cajun butter, tartar sauce, citrus garlic butter, or soy garlic glaze).
Street tacos from La Taqueria del Chupacabra
Who doesn't love tacos? Have a feast with the different variants you can get at La Taqueria del Chupacabra. Just some of our favorites are the Carne Asada (P120), Camarones A La Diabla (P170) a.k.a. spicy chipotle shrimp, and the Mexican Ground Beef (P115).
Tomato Mozzarella Salad at Gusto
Sometimes you want a lighter option that'll still keep you satisfied, and Gusto fits the bill with their fast and fresh offerings. The Tomato Mozzarella Salad (P310) has generous amounts of fresh farm greens, sweet cherry tomatoes, and local white cheese.
Bibimbap from Kaya
Bibimbap is one of those dishes we could eat every single day, and Kaya makes an especially great-tasting version that's loaded with toppings. Choose from the Bibimbap (P250) or the Alamang Bibimbap (P260), with the latter having a dollop of shrimp paste for extra umami.
Merry Moo Cheesy Mamon ice cream from Sundays
There's no shame in finding solace in ice cream after a stressful week, and we highly recommend you order from Sundays, Corner Market's own ice-cream stand owned by local brand Merry Moo. Their Cheesy Mamon (P370/pint) is a one-of-a-kind choice that's hits the right spot between sweet and salty, but you can also get other flavors like the dark and chocoaltey Scandalously Chocolate (P145/solo cup) earthy Avocado (P135/solo cup, P370/pint), and more.
Charsiew from Char Express
Char is a go-to place for Chinese roasted meats, with one of their specialties being the Charsiew (P138). It's perfectly sweet and savory, with tender meat that'll have you going back for more helpings.
Truffle Mushroom Linguine from Stockwell Cafe + Lounge
Stockwell offers all sorts of casual comfort eats, and one dish you can't miss is the Truffle Mushroom Linguine (P250). With an intoxicating truffle fragrance and generous amount of mushrooms, it's one dish that's sure to satisfy. Other must-tries are the Stockwell's Burger (P250) and the Italian Baked Pork Chop (P230).
Braised Lamb Shanks at Sultan
If you're after a homey, comforting bite, look no further than Sultan's Braised Lamb Shanks (P625). It's got tender lamb shanks braised with different herbs and spices, served with buttery rice—just what you need after a long day at work.
