Jollibee Chickenjoy Named One of the Best Fried Chicken in the U.S.
Now we want some Chickenjoy.
(SPOT.ph) Here's a reason to celebrate with a bucket of Chickenjoy (or two!): The famous fried chicken by Jollibee is included in the Best Fast Food Fried Chicken List by American magazine Redbook.
The list was published on October 13 to celebrate National Fried Chicken Day, and ranked Chickenjoy as the fourth best version around. It described Jollibee as the Filipino fried-chicken chain that's "about to take over the United States," and quoted a New York Times article on the fast food chain, where author Ligaya Mishan described the pleasures of Chickenjoy to be "immediate": "The sheath of skin is as craggy as a thunderhead, crannies and crunch multiplying." (Definitely accurate, we say!)
“We couldn’t be happier of this recognition, as it goes to show that our Chickenjoy is truly world-class," says Jollibee Foods Corporation president for North America Rowel Vijandre in a statement. "We see customers continuing to come in droves to our stores because of their love for Chickenjoy. This is also why Jollibee North America continues to do well and is outperforming the QSR industry with positive systemwide sales growth despite the pandemic. We are grateful to our customers and will always be happy to serve them the best Chickenjoy that they deserve."
Jollibee is a huge fast-food chain brand in the Philippines, with stores all over the country plus more than 270 international branches in countries that include the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, and the United Kingdom. In September, they opened their first branch in Liverpool, U.K. They also opened their first store in Rome earlier this month—specifically in Via Ottaviano, which is a few steps away from St. Peter's Square in Vatican City.
Also, a pro tip: If you want to take the ChickenJoy to the next level, check out this Jollibee Baked Rice hack by TikTok user Wow.waz. You'd get a cheesy dish that features the comforting flavor of fried chicken with extra creaminess from the cheese.
