Makati’s Best-Kept Hidden Gem, Maria Luisa's Garden Room, Is Closing Their Doors Forever
The hidden-gem resto was known for their garden theme and amazing European eats.
(SPOT.ph) We've seen how the pandemic has had a tremendous effect on the F&B industry, with many restaurants closing their doors for good in 2020. Sadly, yet another one of Manila's top gems have followed suit: semi-hidden resto Maria Luisa Garden Room closed their doors permanently on August 15.

Maria Luisa's Garden Room confirmed the closure in an exchange with SPOT.ph. "Sadly, it is permanent," they write. They add: "We would like to thank all of you for your support over the years."
Located at the Makati Garden Club, Maria Luisa's Garden Room was an under-the-radar restaurant that was open to the club's members. The restaurant was surrounded by the club's lush garden, but was known for its dainty floral interiors, which was at once elegant but also had a rustic and homey sort of charm.
At the helm of the kitchen was Chef Robert Lilja from Sweden, whose team cooked up some of the best continental eats with Nordic influences. Aside from being open for regular dine-in, they would also host events that include special wine dinners and the like. They will definitely be missed.
