Rizal is one f the best places to unwind after an exhausting week. It's not too far away that you'll spend half the day inside the car, waiting to arrive at your destination. It's also not as suffocating as Metro Manila.
If you've already been to the many restaurants and cafés in Rizal that offer a breathtaking view, there's a new one you should add to your list: Kamala Café.
Kamala Café's al-fresco set-up has front-row seats for a view of the mountains of Cuyambay and Laguna Lake. It's perfect for catching the sunset and of course, picture-taking!
Besides the breath of fresh air, you should go to Kamala Café for Thai food. The bestsellers are the Pad Thai (P269), a famous stir-fry noodle dish with shrimp sold; Oliang (P89) which is Thai iced coffee with milk; and the classic Mango Sticky Rice (P149) for dessert.
They also have other interesting dishes like the Pad Kra Pao (P249) that's made with basil stir-fried chicken, rice, and egg; Satay Gai (price starts at P199), which is grilled chicken served with peanut sauce. If you happen to visit Kamala Café on a cold day, you should order a bowl of their Tom Yum (P279), which is a hot and sour soup with shrimp.
Kamala Café also serves two of Thailand's famous drinks: Cha Yen (P159) which is their version of milk tea; and the Nom Yen (P149) that's made with pink milk or green milk.
