(SPOT.ph) ICYMI, the Internet's been abuzz with talks of the elections, buffalo wings, and calls for boycott, as reports came out about staff members from Frankie's New York Buffalo Wings' Crossroads BGC branch mistreating customers based on their political views. Though the buffalo wing spot issued an initial statement, many customers weren't quite convinced—but in light of this, Frankie's has posted another update where they mention closing the said branch temporarily.
Frankie's has posted an update:
In a social media post, Frankie's shares that they reviewed CCTV footage and saw that their Store Manager apologized to the family on the spot regarding the recent incident. The chicken spot is in communication with the family involved as well as the author of the viral post and reassures customers about the safeguards they've got in place—including CCTV cameras and following hygiene practices.
Frankie's also shares their recognition of their responsibility for the actions of the staff. "Frankie’s as an organization would like to reiterate that the views of individual team members do not reflect the views of our entire company. We have many hardworking and kind people with diverse beliefs and perspectives," they write. "We acknowledge, however, that we are responsible for the actions of each member of our team. After cross-checking statements from different parties, along with reviewing footage, the team members involved will be handled in accordance with the policies stated in our Code of Conduct."
With this, the Crossroads BGC branch will be closed from today, March 23 until tomorrow, March 24 as they'll be holding "Sensitivity and Core Values Training" for the said outlet. Other locations, they write, will also be scheduled for these sessions moving forward.
"We have made mistakes in the past and we are truly sincere and committed to learning from them. We continue to ask for your empathy and understanding."
For context: In a now-deleted Facebook post, user Ajie Jugueta recalled an incident and expressed his disappointment with the staff of Frankie's BGC Crossroads branch as members of the staff were joking around and acting unprofessionally toward supporters of Presidential candidate Leni Robredo who were dining in after the recent PasigLaban rally. Frankie's issued a statement and apology.
