(SPOT.ph) The Japanese have their own distinct style of curry that's a touch sweeter and (generally) less spicy than the versions of, say, India or Thailand—but no less hearty and satisfying, especially paired with a steaming-hot Japanese rice. And if there's one establishment that's pretty much perfected the art of the dish, it's gotta be CoCo Ichibanya—the brand that hails from the Land of the Rising Sun and came to our shores in 2015. They've got a couple of branches around Metro Manila, from Quezon City to San Juan Pasig to Makati to Ermita to BGC—but it hasn't been as easy sating the craving for those further in the South. Until now, anyway. Yup, the Japanese curry shop has a food truck parked at Alabang Town Center.

Located in the area of Alabang Town Center's Corporate Center and open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, the CoCo Ichibanya food truck makes it convenient to get your CoCo curry fix when in the South. They've got a short but sweet (er, spicy?) menu at the truck featuring most of their fan faves—from the classic Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry (P400) to the Fried Chicken Omelette Curry (P400) to the Vegetable Curry (P290), Cheese Hamburg Curry (P390), Shrimp Cutlet Curry (P390), and more.
As you place your order you'll be asked to choose your spice level (mild, standard, or hot); and though plates come with white rice by default, if you prefer, you can also opt to switch your plate's carb to 15-Grain Rice for an additional fee (P30/standard, P70/large). You've also got the option of adding toppings like Spinach (P60), Scrambled Egg (P60), a Pork Cutlet (P180), and more; should you want greens on the side you can go for a Mini Salad (P60).
CoCo Ichibanya is a curry restaurant chain from Japan that's been around since 1978. They made their Philippine debut at Estancia mall in 2015 and have since opened more branches around the Metro and even in Cebu.
