Psst, This Off-Menu Bowl at Marudori Might Just Be the Champ of Chicken Ramen

Think of Mendokoro's Super Chashu, but make it chicken.

(SPOT.ph) Know how going past the obvious sometimes leads to one-of-a-kind finds that make it well worth the effort of thinking out of the box? When at ramen joint Mendokoro Ramenba, for example, one of their best bowls—the Super Chashu Ramen—happens to be an off-menu item that nevertheless can't be missed for its deeply savory, smoky profile that's full of umami through and through. Earlier this year Mendokoro opened their chicken-ramen sibling Marudori—and oh, you bet they've taken the local food scene by storm with their well-crafted ramen bowls that are every bit as rich as their pork-based counterparts. And while Marudori's regular menu is full of gems, there is one recent addition to their secret menu that might even replace your Mendokoro Super Chashu obsession. Check out the Titan Tori Ramen.

Don't miss this off-menu ramen bowl when at Marudori:

The Titan Tori Ramen is, indeed, a titan that's not only large in size, but also takes the chicken element characteristic of Marudori's ramen into overdrive. It's got 300 grams of chicken grilled over binchotan charcoal for a distinct smokiness, joining a bowl of menma, leek stems, spring onions, chopped chili, mayu (garlic oil), yuzu peel, and spinach in their signature thick and hearty paitan broth. Talk about a real slurp-worthy treat! It goes for P640 a bowl—and though not on their regular menu, you can bring it up with their servers and they should know what you're talking about.

This isn't Marudori's only secret-menu dish; as regulars (and net-savvy food lovers) would know, they also dish out killer bowls like the Lobster Ramen and Black Tantanmen (prices upon request) that are well worth changing up your usual for. Whatever you order, don't miss their likewise-excellent sides—the xiao long bao-esque Gyoza (P150/three pieces, P250/five pieces) and smoky-juicy Tsukune (P280/two pieces), in particular, are A+ choices.
