Opening their doors starting today, August 25 is Pedro the Grocer, a new brick-and-mortar shop in Makati that serves as the primary distribution point of Antonio’s products in the Metro.

Open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Pedro the Grocer gets its moniker from Antonio's owner Tonyboy Escalante's younger son, and is owned and operated by older son Basti Escalante, who explains they take after the luxe-meets-traditional Filipino character Antonio's has come to be known for. The 48-square meter outlet goes for a brooding look with shades of black, white, and gray—a straightforward but fitting theme that shines the spotlight on the great-quality products they've got on offer.
On the lineup are signature Antonio's bottled, packaged, and frozen eats, as well as one-of-a-kind finds from small local players and farmers that'll spruce up your food selection at home. Consider keeping a bottle or two of the sweet-nutty Banana Macadamia Jam and/or Strawberry Pinenuts Jam—both excellent with their breads, which include the buttery Ensaymada Quezo de Bola and flaky Croissants. For an easy-to-reheat breakfast that'll bring the Tagaytay long weekend feels to your dining table, grab packs of the Housemade Corned Beef and/or Housemade Longganisa and pair them with your sides and starches of choice.
Feeling snacky? Go for bites like Peppery Lengua Empanada, or sweet treats like the Otap and Toasted Mamon. And because dessert is always a good idea, definitely don't miss their Crinkles, Dark Chocolate Hazelnuts chocolate blocks, and Roasted Strawberry Ice Cream.
