Locally, one reliable spot that dishes out pies closest to Napoli tradition is Elbert's Pizzeria, what with their winning crisp-chewy crust (made with Caputo 00 Pizzeria Flour and baked in an Italian-made oven) and range of classic-leaning topping combos. Love them as much as we do? You'll want to order up today or hold those hankerings for some time. The Salcedo Village establishment has announced that it'll be taking a break for the time being, with their last day being today, August 31.

You've only got until today to order before Elbert's Pizzeria closes for the time being:
"Today, August 31, is your last chance to enjoy a bite of our pizzas before we go on a short break!," Elbert's Pizzeria's writes in a Facebook post. Eponymous owner Elbert Cuenca also published a public post on his own Facebook account, sharing how it would be the "last day" for the pizza spot.
Thankfully, not all is lost; Cuenca does assure that their signature pizzas and pastas would "make a comeback"—albeit "in a new concept."
Definitely consider dropping by their Salcedo Village outpost while you can, or ordering for delivery via the Elbert's Delivers website. Pro tip, we're especially huge fans of their Pizza Bianca Prosciutto e Rucola (P750) with mozzarella fior di latte, prosciutto crudo, arugula, and parm shavings; even the simpler Pizza Romana (P500) with tomato pulp, mozzarella fior di latte, parmigiano reggiano, basil, and anchovies delivers a balanced yet flavorful bite.
On the pasta front, their real-deal, Italian-pleasing carbonara—though currently not listed on their website—finished sixth in our 2020 Top 10 list. The Tagliatelle al Ragu Bolognese (P450), with beef and pork hand-chopped as per Italian tradition, and braised into a hearty sauce that embraces silky handmade tagliatelle, is another standout.
