(SPOT.ph) Just last January, news broke out that the local Ministop is shifting ownership to the Robinsons Supermarket Corporation—a shift with which comes, among other things, a possible change in name. Well, it's finally happening. Ministop is now officially Uncle John's, according to the store's official statement released on Thursday, September 22.

Big changes are happening over at Ministop:
"We are pleased to inform you that we are changing the store banner name 'Ministop' to 'Uncle John's,'" Ministop writes in a statement. After all, the 20-year-old brand is arguably best known locally for their fried chicken dubbed, yup, Uncle John, named after founder John Gokongwei, Jr. himself.
You can expect to see the new store signages in the coming months, as the rebrand is slated to roll out on the fourth quarter of the year. By January 2023, all of the store's brand elements and collaterals—physical and digital marketing bits included—will also be bearing their new moniker.
"Since this is a trade name change only, all business transactions will continue under Robinsons Convenience Stores, Inc."
