(SPOT.ph) Italian cuisine is among the most comforting for Filipinos. We often find ourselves craving pasta or pizza when we need to feel good or when we're having a bad day. But what else do we know about Italian food beyond the usual pizza and pasta combination? With such a rich culture and history at its core, it should be no surprise that there is something more to Italian cuisine than what meets the eye.
For those looking to broaden their knowledge about the Italian kitchen, you're in luck. In celebration of the upcoming Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, The Tasting Club, in partnership with the Italian Embassy and Chef Margarita Fores, will have an Apericena on November 17 starting at 6:30 p.m. at The Loggia in Palacio de Memoria.
Celebrate Italian food and wine through this one-night-only gastronomic tour of Italy:
The Apericena will be a night of learning and appreciation of Italian gastronomy. Guests will be ushered through the different parts of Italy by sampling 14 regional specialty dishes paired with seven wines from all over the boot-shaped peninsula. The event is priced at P3,500 per person, and seats are limited, so those interested are encouraged to RSVP or book online.
Expect nibbles like Capesante con Vino Bianco (Scallops with White Wine), Risotto al Formaggio Piave e Tartufo (Risotto with Piave Cheese and Truffle Drizzle), and many other finger food and canapés prepared by Chef Fores and her team. As for the vino, award-winning bottles such as Masottina, Prosecco Collezione 96 Brut DOC, and Avignonesi, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2015 DOCG have been curated by The Tasting Club for this degustation.
The Apericena is at Palacio De Memoria on November 17. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Seats are P3,500 per person. Interested parties may register online. For more information, visit The Tasting Club's Facebook page.
