TRENDING: Tagalog Versions of Frozen Songs

Elsa gets Tagalized

(SPOT.ph) It’s been pretty cold lately and aside from making us crave a good bowl of ramen, it’s become even easier to relate to Disney’s Frozen. We can safely call it an astounding success if people from the tropics are singing songs from a movie set in snow. And they’re not only singing it, they’re localizing it.

Ladies and gentlemen, here’s Pinoy ingenuity at work again. Check out some of the various Tagalog versions of songs from Disney’s Frozen:

"Do You Wanna Build a Snowman (Gusto Mong Gumawa ng Taong Niyebe?)" by Silverrainxyz

Hurrah for the opportunity to use niyebe in a song! If you’re one of those who are "nalulungkot at mag-isang nakatitig sa orasan," do check out this version of the whimisical yet rather sad song.

"Let It Go" by Silverrainxyz

YouTube user Silverrainxyz also put out a Tagalog version of the anthemic "Let It Go." The LSS-inducing "Let It Go" lyric is retained, lending a konyo charm to it. To quote her translation, mga dating kinatatakutan ay hindi na nadarama, so who cares if some people hate Taglish? Just sing it out!

"Let It Go (Bumitaw)" by DisneyDubAmy

The page views are meager but YouTube user DisneyDubAmy’s translation gives us the good kind of chills. "Bahala na kung anong sabihin nila. Bumagyo pa man, ang lamig ay hindi na abala," is something we can imagine thinking during the rainy season.

"For the First Time in Forever (Sa Unang Beses Sa Kay Tagal)" by Kris Dulay

May musika at liwanag and we’re happy about it. Filipino is such a nice language and we’re glad there are people like Kris Dulay who celebrate language month all year long. Keep it up, we love the mahika at saya!
