10 Celebrity Homes We Want to Live In
From resort-like mansions to enormous walk-in closets, these homes are the ones we’re lusting after.
(SPOT.ph) It's easy to assume that celebrities have it all...what with their sprawling homes (usually not just one but a few) in Manila and elsewhere in the world. We see them in the spotlight, but we also can't help but take a peek inside their seemingly perfect worlds-because really, who hasn't dreamt about living like the rich and famous?
Here are 10 celebrity homes we’d love to call our own.
1. Coco Martin
Perfect for: The resort-lover
From his humble beginnings as a restaurant waiter, Coco Martin rose to success via indie films, eventually making it to people's hearts with his winning smile, starring in primetime teleseryes and top-grossing movies. It was his love for the outdoors that became top priority in the three years that it took to build the 2,000-square meter property in Fairview, Quezon City. Remembering how he and his cousins would swim in the river when they were kids, Coco decided he wanted to have a pool built in his home for the whole family to enjoy, plus a cabana and gazebo.
2. Daniel Padilla
Perfect for: The music buff
At 19 years old, teen king Daniel Padilla fulfilled his promise to his mom, former actress Carla Estrada, to give her a comfortable home. Before the young star's rise to superstardom, the family never had a place to call their own-so it was definitely a dream come true to have the 1,000-square meter, two-storey "Modern Mediterranean" house in Quezon City all to themselves. Daniel's room in particular holds a secret passageway that appears to be a bookshelf on one side, but is actually the door that leads to his bedroom. The star's love for The Beatles shows in his prized collection of memorabilia and commemorative toys on display.
3. Toni and Alex Gonzaga
Perfect for: The fashionista
Rumored sibling rivalry aside, Toni and Alex Gonzaga still made it a point to have access to each other's rooms in their family home in Taytay, Rizal. Alex shares that it's not unusual to have petty fights with older sister Toni over clothes and shoes, but it didn't stop them from having a connecting room and a shared walk-in closet, which has become a favorite part of their bedrooms. Growing up in a rented apartment with their parents taught the siblings to work hard for their dreams, which they are happily able to share thanks to their connecting bedrooms.
4. Heart Evangelista
Perfect for: The budding artist
Soon-to-be-wed actress Heart Evangelista found her new home in a quiet three-storey townhouse in New Manila, Quezon City, having moved there from a high-rise condominium unit in Makati City. The star's newfound passion in art is apparent in her living room, which has been transformed into an art studio filled with her own paintings which she fondly shares on her Instagram account (@iamhearte).
5. Bea Alonzo
Perfect for: The homebody
Surely all those box-office movies and teleserye hits with John Lloyd Cruz, among other big successes throughout the years have brought Bea Alonzo a whole lot, allowing her to invest in property and build a beautiful house. Of her 600-square-meter home in QC, she cites the bathroom as a favorite. The actress says she always wanted to have a freestanding bathtub so she has a clawfoot tub in the middle of her bathroom. It's easy to see why she loves taking long hours in the tub reading and drinking tea.
6. Enrique Gil
Perfect for: The family man
Forevermore star Enrique Gil put his college education on hold to support his family. That decision frightened him at first but when he saw how his earnings can sustain his family's needs, he enjoyed it and saved enough so he could provide a decent home for his mom and two other siblings. In their family home in Parañaque, the young actor shares a room with his brother instead of having his own, because he admits to having sleepless nights from watching too many horror flicks.
7. Zsa Zsa Padilla
Perfect for: The kitchen diva
While most of us could only sing in the shower, a real diva can carry a tune even in the kitchen. A room with perfect acoustics is how divine diva Zsa Zsa Padilla describes her kitchen, which she says is her and partner's Conrad Onglao's favorite hangout in the house. Zsa Zsa says she enjoys singing there because it allows her to belt out in full force and hear herself clearly. White interiors and touches of nature like a koi pond make the space all the more relaxing.
8. Ryzza Mae Dizon
Perfect for: The kid-at-heart
Nine-year-old child wonder Ryzza Mae Dizon became a happy homeowner last year, after having previously lived in Pampanga, Tondo, and Quezon City. The house was given to her by Vic Sotto in April 2014, and was announced on The Ryzza Mae Show on its first anniversary. Far from the usual mattress, she now has her own fully air-conditioned, carpeted, and colorful room. Ryzza Mae also has more than 10 pairs of shoes, far from the only pair of slippers she used to have before reaching celebrity status. The Little Miss Philippines 2012 winner has surely come a long way.
9. Liz Uy
Perfect for: The constant party hostess
Celebrity stylist Liz Uy has been enjoying her independence in her nine-year-old condo unit in Ortigas. The unit was given as a gift by her parents when she graduated with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management at the De La Salle College of St. Benilde. She points to her all-white kitchen as her favorite area in her home, where she often finds time to whip up Chicken Caesar Salad or a medium to well-done steak.
10. Wenn Deramas
Perfect for: The film buff
One of the most-loved directors of Philippine TV and film is Direk Wenn Deramas, the man behind successful TV series such as Mula Sa Puso, Marina, Kampanerang Kuba, and recent films like The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin and Maria Leonora Teresa. For his three-storey house in Quezon City, the director specifically asked his architect to build him a home theater.
