Check out Academy Award-winning actress Helen Mirren + local celebrities taking public transportation
They’re just like us. Sort of.
(SPOT.ph) Even though she’s an official dame who once played Queen Elizabeth on the big screen, actress Helen Mirren looks like she doesn’t mind taking public transport. New York City commuters were abuzz when a photograph of the Academy Award winner on the subway surfaced on Monday, February 1. The purple gloves, the fur coat, the leather bag she keeps perched on her knees-it’s all perfect train etiquette from the 69-year-old British actress.

Over on our shores, we’re no strangers to seeing celebrities on the train, though it’s less of a humble means of travel and more of a necessity since Metro Manila traffic is that horrendous. They don’t exactly look as poised as she does, either...mostly because it’s nearly impossible to grab a seat, much less fit on the train at all.
Does it speak volumes on our transportation system? Or our local personalities? You be the judge.
Kris Aquino opted to take a selfie during her train ride
Anne Curtis had a more carefree approach (she had plenty more room)
Manny Pacquiao looks less than thrilled in his cramped experience
Senator Grace Poe also joined in on the fun...
...but not before falling in line outside the station, like everyone else.
DOTC Chief Jun Abaya (plus some aides) also got on the train...
...which people weren’t too happy about, if you recall.
Oh, and Palace spokesperson Abigail Valte also took the Grace Poe route
