6 Hot Songs from the Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack...and the Scenes That Should Go with Them
We matched the sexy movie with the sexy music.
(SPOT.ph) However you might feel about Fifty Shades of Grey, there’s no denying the fact that the soundtrack seems pretty awesome. The album, which is set to drop on February 10, features steamy songs from The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, Sia, and Beyoncé. Tracks have slowly been released one by one, and there’s no definite word yet if all these songs will appear in the actual movie.
Still, we took it upon ourselves to make super educated guesses on when and where they will likely end up playing in the movie. Regardless of whether it will be featured or not, it’s still a solid roster of sexy tracks that will tide you all over until the film hits theaters Valentine’s Day.
The song: "Earned It" by The Weeknd
The scene: The Red Room
If the NSFW music video is any indication, it’s going to be Ana’s first foray into the Red Room of Pain a.k.a. where the magic happens. Then again, it will also work really well in the last scene where Christian, er, goes all out.
The song: "Crazy in Love" by Beyoncé
The scene: The elevator kiss
This slower and more intense re-recording, which first appeared in the movie trailer, had everyone buzzing. We already know what role the song plays in the story, but we definitely see it playing during their passionate kiss in the elevator. Because. Duh. (Listen to the full, official version of the remix.)
The song: "I Know You" by Skylar Grey
The scene: Any heartfelt moment where feelings are said or hinted at
Ah, a moody ballad about letting your barriers down. We’re guessing this song from Skylar Grey (who probably did not score this gig for her surname) will be perfect for all those dramatic times Christian stubbornly refuses to let poor Ana in. Can you imagine those piano notes playing during those heartwrenching, un-kinky moments between sex scenes? We know we do.
The song: "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding
The scene: The hardware store
Although it’s easy to see how its title and lyrics will fit right into the soundtrack, its execution is more on the catchy-pop-song side. It would go perfectly with Ana and Christian’s hardware store meet-cute. We can also see some poor, unsuspecting couple choosing it for their wedding song.
The song: "Where We Belong" by The Weeknd
The scene: When Ana walks into Christian’s office
When you’re making the soundtrack to the erotic movie that is sweeping the nation, you make sure a guy like The Weeknd is really involved. His second song starts off smooth and tension-filled then escalates into darker, more intense territory-which pretty much summarizes the plot. Playing it during their first meeting should set the mood right.
The song: "Salted Wound" by Sia
The scene: All the sad parts. All of it.
The song actually sounds more sweet than salty, so maybe the salt comes from the tears Ana likely sheds multiple times throughout the movie as Sia softly croons in the background.
