This veteran actress has won an international Lifetime Achievement Award

Specifically, the ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards

 

(SPOT.ph) Noranians, rejoice! Superstar Nora Aunor was honored with a Life Achievement Award at the 2015 ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA). The award is presented to ASEAN film personalities who have "broken the international barrier."

Cherie Gil also went home with the Best Actress award for her role as an opera singer in Sonata. She bested other Filipino actresses, including Vivian Velez (Bendor) and Barbara Miguel (Nuwebe).

 

In the same award show, Joseph Israel Laban was recognized as Best Director for his 2013 Cinemalaya entry Nuwebe, while the film Purok 7 won the ASEAN Spirit Award.
