(SPOT.ph) Think back to pre-pandemic days. Do you have vague memories of a small basement room absolutely buzzing to the beat not just of whatever live act was currently causing a tiny musical storm but also the movements of dozens (okay, maybe a hundred) of all kinds of people? The type of night that went by in a loud blur and probably ended quietly sobering up at the nearby McDonald's (if you hadn't already gorged on siomai). Yup, that was Mow's. And might soon be you once again because, finally, a major haunt of the past is reopening its doors!
Quezon City bar Mow's reopens June 2022
The semi-hidden Quezon City bar posted the return on their socials. The comeback is slated for Friday, June 24, starting at 8 p.m. and yup, you can trust they'll be coming back in a big way. Mow's teased that the line-up will have 12 acts; all TBA as of writing but in a place that had everyone from Reese Lansangan to Oh, Flamingo! and even international acts, it's sure to be spicy. Prep for an all-nighter like we haven't had in a couple of years. It'll cost you P300 to get past the doors and that already comes with two "dranks."
Mow's was one of the go-to gig spots in Quezon City. It's located below the Kowloon House along Matalino Street and feels a lot like their basement space when you catch it while it's empty. We know it doesn't sound like much but when you've got great music, great company, and great food, the physical space is just transformed.
Mow's is a younger gig spot compared to QC OGs like Route 196 along Katipunan and Today X Future in Cubao Expo. Two places that, by the way, shut down during the pandemic, alongside more gig spots across the Metro like Poblacion's Polilya and Makati's XX:XX. We've been keeping you up to date so far on all our old hangouts closing down so here's a refreshing change!
