Ladies (and some gents) screamed the loudest for young actors Gerald Anderson and Aljur Abrenica at the Cosmo Bachelor Bash on September 10 at the NBC Tent.
Cosmo Men cover guy Anderson came out with his face and body fully covered but soon stripped down, prompting the highest shriek decibel of the night.
"Binilisan ko talaga ang paglakad, nakakahiya eh," he said backstage, according to PEP.ph. Onscreen partner Kim Chiu, who was working, wasn’t able to attend.
"My favorite is Gerald but the surprise of the night was Aljur. He’s super gwapo pala!" said writer Janina Lagunda, who watched the show from the VIP area.
Abrenica flexed ala The Hulk, driving the crowd crazy. Audience members armed with water guns happily soaked the hunks, but Abrenica took it a step further by pouring a bottle of water all over himself.
His constant on-screen partner, Kris Bernal, told morning show Unang Hirit that she screamed without a care when he came out. (Abrenica replied that he had eyes for nobody but Bernal.)
All the Cosmo Men centerfolds were present except for actor Sid Lucero and model Joem Bascon. Returning celebrity centerfold Akihiro Sato was bursting with energy, almost jumping instead of walking on the runway. TV host JC Tiuseco and football player Phil Younghusband played coy: Tiuseco pretended to take off his pants but then wagged his finger at the crowd, while Younghusband only took off his mask halfway through his walk. Rounding out the centerfold celebrities are Katorse actors Ejay Falcon and Xian Lim and model Daniel Matsunaga. Singer Mark Bautista slipped off his wholesome image by wearing nothing but a pair of red pants.
Before the celebrity centerfolds came out, the rest of the 69 hunks stripped, got wet, and moved to the crowd’s chants urging them to "Take it off!"
"I’ve been coming here for the past three years, but, still, I loved it," said makeup artist Trisha Chua.
SPOT.ph did an on-the-spot survey asking who Cosmo should put next in its annual 69 Bachelors issue. The guys who topped the list: Derek Ramsey, Marc Nelson and Jake Cuenca.
