Angelica Panganiban, Piolo Pascual, Anne Curtis + more celebs at Star Magic Ball
The biggest stars partied in honor of Star Magic’s 18th anniversary.
Scores of celebrities flocked to the fourth Star Magic Ball held at the Shangri-la Makati on September 5, reports PEP.ph. The formal ball marked the 18th anniversary of ABS-CBN’s talent management arm. Hosted by JM Rodriguez and Megan Young, the program featured performances by Martin Nievera, Pokwang, Jed Madela, Pilipinas Got Talent’s Jovit Baldivino and the Velasco Brothers, and the Star Magic Glee Club with Markki Stroem and Matteo Guidicelli, among others.
Just like in the 2009 Star Magic Ball, fashion and love team awards were liberally bestowed. Piolo Pascual, who wore a Hugo Boss suit, won the 2010 Star Magic Icon award. The Star Magic King and Queen award went to John Lloyd Cruz and Maricar Reyes; Best Dressed to onscreen partners Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu; and Most Stylish to Bea Alonzo and her escort for the night Zanjoe Marudo.
Once again, Anne Curtis, in a white Michael Cinco creation this year, was named Most Glamorous. The Viva artist said in the PEP.ph report, "This is something different. I want something more modern and messy, but at the same classy."
Former reel partners Shaina Magdayao and Jake Cuenca took home the Fashionista awards, while comedian Kitkat was declared Fashion Forward. ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio was honored as the Most Elegant Star of the Night.
Reel love team Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales were hailed as Cinema’s Most Romantic Couple, while the supposedly engaged Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto was awarded Couple of the Night. The event also served as "date" night for some of the stars like couple John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao, rumored couple Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion, and Pinoy Big Brother alumni Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco.
Long-time couple Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban, who is currently embroiled in a controversy involving Claudine Barretto, said "very little" about the issue, according to PEP.ph. Ramsay said, "[I support Angelica] all the way, of course. I’m here for her."
Meanwhile, Sam Milby and Anne Curtis, ex-lovers who went to the 2009 ball together, both came alone this year. "Baka maging awkward lang! (Things may just get awkward!) But we’re still friends, and that’s all that matters. We’re here to have fun," Curtis said in the PEP.ph report.
