Award-winning stage actress Lea Salonga, broadcast journalist extraordinaire Cheche Lazaro and world-class bag designer Bea Valdes were among Manila’s "Wonder Women" honored by Town & Country magazine in an afternoon tea party held last September 14 at Whitespace in Makati.
Successful in their respective fields, Salonga, Lazaro and Valdes were recognized for their achievements in music and theater, media, and fashion, respectively.
The women are featured in Town & Country’s September issue alongside writer and historian Carmen Guerrero Nakpil (for literature); restaurateur Margarita Fores (for entrepreneurship); former Philippine Ambassador to Spain Isabel Caro Wilson (for diplomacy and the arts); and philanthropist Gina Lopez (philanthropy and public service). Lopez is also on the cover of the September issue.
The first Wonder Women issue "honors accomplished women of style and substance who have excelled in their chosen fields," says Yvette Fernandez, Town and Country editor-in-chief. Stories and anecdotes from the people closest to these women give life to their individual profiles in the September issue of the magazine.
Broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, model Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez, and designer Inno Sotto, were also at the party.
