The opinionated actress does not hold back.
Angel Locsin has never been afraid of voicing out her opinions, especially when it comes to important issues. The 34-year-old actress is actually famous for her fiery replies and tweets!
As a tribute to Locsin, one fan took inspiration from Game of Thrones and tweeted, "I choose forevermore Your Grace, Angel Locsin of House Colmenares, First of Her Name, Breaker of Chains, Khaleesi of Women, Children, and the Marginalized, Protector of our Realms, The Rightful Darna of our Time, The General's Daughter."
Here, we rounded up some of Locsin's best clapbacks in 2019, so far:
Her response to Jimmy Bondoc's announcement that he's happy to see ABS-CBN close down: "I will pray for you."
ICYMI, President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to block ABS-CBN's franchise renewal, which is expiring in 2020.
In a Facebook post, singer Jimmy Bondoc said, "I am eagerly awaiting your demise. I know how this sounds. And I know the nasty comments which are bound to come. I don't care. If you think COMELEC is bad, wait until you see the real machinery that is known as 'the biggest network.' This is not schadenfreude. This is hope! This is for real change. You have countless victims, from sexual harassment to plain and simple bullying. I am so happy that your time has come."
Locsin fired back by using a line from his song, "Let Me Be The One": "Let me be the one to break this news to you so you don't have to make excuses. The network might not be perfect but for you to be happy about thousands of people losing their jobs is pure evil. Maybe you're just having a bad day. I will pray for you."
She added, "Noong sumikat ka ba may na-experience ka na sexual harassment? If yes, I encourage you and all the victims to report this to the police. But generalizing that sexual favor is a prerequisite to success is just wrong."
On body-shamers and their mean comments: "Perfect ka?"
In her January 2019 guesting on Tonight With Boy Abunda, Locsin said, "Parang maaawa ka na doon sa tao kasi anong klaseng person ka para magawa mo 'yon? Perfect ka, sobrang perfect mo? Parang ganoon. Hindi mo na lang papatulan... Ayokong makipag-deal sa mga ganoong klaseng tao kasi sad ang life nila. Ako walang problema, bakit ikaw ang dami mong issue? E katawan ko 'to, ako 'to, sarili ko 'to. E ikaw ba, okay ka ba?"
Her response to someone who called her *sayang* because of her political views: "Sayang kasi may opinion? Dapat pa-cute lang?"
During elections season, Locsin tweeted and defended her relative Neri Colmenares, who was running for senator. A "fan" replied to her tweet and said, "Sayang ka Ms. Angel Locsin, 'wag masyado makisawsaw sa pulitika, idol pa naman kita. Sayang ka."
Locsin's retort: "Sayang kasi may opinion? Dapat pa-cute lang?"
To the "doctor" who told her to brush up on her knowledge about Philippine history: "'Ba't hindi ho kayo ang mamundok [nang] makatulong pa ho kayo sa mga lugar na malayo ang ospital?"
A now private twitter account belittled Locsin and said, "Dear Ms. Angel Locsin, artista ka. Doctor ako. FYI lang. Please take time to know your Philippine history very well. Your whining here on Twitter is so embarrassing. Walang laman e. NPA sprouted because of the liberal party whom you're defending. Go to the mountain for you to know."
Locsin added that she frequently goes to the mountains and that it's always a humbling experience.
