Cigarettes After Sex is heading out across the globe starting August 31 for their X's World Tour. X is their third studio album and is slated for a July release this year. If their previous bangers—and by bangers we mean slow dreamy jams that sound exactly like you would play them while smoking post-coitus (disclaimer: cigs are bad for your health, practice safe sex, etc.)—are anything to go by, we're getting ready for lyrics like "Your lips, my lips, apocalypse" and "Nothing's gonna hurt you baby" to be freshly seared into our brains, in Greg Gonzales' signature bedroom voice.

Cigarettes After Sex will takeover the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on January 14, 2025. That's a Tuesday so best plan your leaves and schedules! This is a pretty massive venue, with the Jonas Brothers' having just performed there in February, so not much hope for an intimate night with their intimate sound, but hey, we'll take what we can get.

While we wait for the full album release of X in July, the band released the first single "Tejano Blue" on February 29. It's got the same easy-listening vibe with a heavy undercurrent. Fingers crossed we get to listen to older hits like "Apocalypse," "Crush," and more, too.
Who are Cigarettes After Sex? What does their name mean?
For those not in the know, this dream pop band originated from El Paso, Texas in 2008. Their EP I. was released in 2012 and contained the song "Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby"—yes, the sleeper hit was released more than a decade ago.
Currently, the band consists of founding member Greg Gonzalez on lead vocals and guitar, Randall Miller on bass, and Jacob Tomsky on drums. Gonzalez confirmed to Vogue France in 2017 that their name comes from a shared moment with a girl he was dating back in 2008, yes, when they were smoking together.
The band so far has two studio albums and one EP under their belt, with a third one coming out in time for their tour. Their known for an ethereal and erotic sound, led by Gonzales' chill voice.
The last time Cigarettes After Sex came to the Philippines was in November 2018, where they were joined by Up Dharma Down.
