Ed Sheeran Goes on "Karaoke Tour" Before Big Manila Concert
He sang "My Way" and survived.
(SPOT.ph) British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran had quite the fun before the much-awaited Manila leg of his Mathematics Tour on Saturday, taking on the Filipino party staple: karaoke. With karaoke on wheels, Sheeran made the rounds of his concert venue SMDC Festival Grounds hours before he was to take the stage, letting everyone in on the fun.

Ed Sheeran made sure to give Karaoke a try in Manila
“We have a portable karaoke machine because karaoke is very popular in the Philippines and we are going to sing some songs,” he said on a reel shared on Facebook and Instagram.
His concert guests, Filipino band Ben&Ben and British singer Calum Scott, gamely joined in, singing Sheeran’s “Perfect,” Beyonce’s “Love on Top,” ABBA classic “Dancing Queen,” Maroon 5’s “This Love,” and another Sheeran hit “Thinking Out Loud.”
His bodyguard Kevin Myers, meanwhile, reluctantly obliged to a duet with Sheeran for the Sinatra classic (and notorious) “My Way.” They’re doing just fine.
“Shoutout to Ben&Ben and Calum Scott for bringing the A game. And to Kev for joining the fun,” he captioned his post.
“That was fun (laugh emoji),” Ben&Ben said in a comment on Sheeran’s post.
Sheeran’s karaoke session has drawn over 792,000 views and over 38,000 reactions on Facebook and over 142,000 more on Instagram, with Pinoys giving love to the visiting singer for indulging in the Filipino pastime.

Calum Scott had earlier brought the karaoke magic to Market! Market! mall in Taguig, surprising folks by singing "You Are the Reason" right by the entrance. And yes, the crowd did not disappoint by serenading him right back.

Ed Sheeran takes Manila stage with Ben&Ben
Later in the evening, Sheeran had another sing-along that sent Filipinos swooning: a duet with the twins of Ben&Ben for the band’s 2017 megahit “Maybe the Night.” A snippet of the moment, shared via video by Philippine Concerts, drew reactions from fans who were lucky enough to see it live, and those who saw it online.
“AHHH I witnessed this live!!! It’s so good I had goosebumps,” shared one concert-goer in the comments.
Several demanded a collaboration between Sheeran and Ben&Ben.
“Please re-record this song together with Ed Sheeran. This was an amazing performance! [Scene] stealer of the night! Goosebumps!” one comment read.
The Manila leg of Sheeran’s concert ended with a bang—fireworks that lit up the sky over the stage as Sheeran said his goodbye to his Filipino fans. This was Sheeran’s second tour stop in Manila after his 2018 sold-out “Divide” concert at the SM MOA Concert Grounds.
