Concerts to Watch in August 2024

(SPOT.ph) Ready your wallets, concert-goers, becasue the month of August is jampacked with performances from global artists. As always, there are K-Pop artists flying in from Seoul, and pop artists turning your heavy-rotation dreams into onstage-performance reality. Of course, you can't miss out on the nostalgia trips courtesy of bands with 2000s hits and local hits from OPM artists. Mark your calendars, cross your fingers for those tickets, and emotionally prepare yourself for several nights of singing your heart out.

XG

When: August 2
Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum

Japanese girl group XG are coming to Manila for the very first time. Get ready to meet Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey as they perform their hits "Shooting Star," "Left Right," and "GRL GVNG." The seven-member group recently showed off their performance of "Undefeated" at the opening ceremony at the Valorant Champtions Tour Pacific, and our fingers are crossed we'll see a bit of it in the Philippines.

ITZY

When: August 3
Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

JYP Entertainment girl group ITZY is headed for the SM Mall of Asia Arena to meet MIDYZs for a night of hit songs and epic performances. Born To Be is their secons world tour and we're sure their fans are relieved are coming back to the Philippines. You can't miss "Born To Be," of course, along with their other bops "Dalla Dalla," "Wannabe," "Not Shy," and more!

NCT Dream

When: August 11
Where: SM Mall Of Asia Arena

Filipino NCTZens, we're so close to August, which means you're only a few days away to seeing Mark, Haechan, Jaemin, Jeno, Chenle, and Jisung from taking the Mall of Asia stage for their THE DREAM SHOW 3 : DREAM( )SCAPE tour. Sadly, Renjun won't be able to participate in the concert due to health conditions, and we wish him a safe and speedy recovery.

Tori Kelly

When: August 23
Where: New Frontier Theater

American singer-songwriter Tori Kelly is coming this August to serenade her fans at the New Frontier Theater for her Purple Skies Asia Tour. Her cover of Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'bout a Thing" is high up on our list, but we're also eager to hear "Dear No One," "missin u," and of course, "Paper Hearts." Pop singer Maisy Kay will also be joining Kelly for the concert!

Conan Gray

When: August 25
Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum

Singer Conan Gray might have Found Heaven On Tour, but we're pretty sure you'll find heaven when you hear him perform his gut-wrenching songs "Heather," "Memories," and "Astronomy" live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. You know we can't leave out encore-favorite "Maniac"!

The Boyz

When: August 25
Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

THE Bs—sorry, we meant Deobis—here's your chance to the The Boyz live. The 11-member boy group from South Korea is coming to Manila in late August for THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR : ZENERATION II. You'll be treated to live performances of their upbeat tracks "D.D.D." and "Thrill Ride," along with their moodier and hardcore songs like "Reveal" and "The Stealer."

December Avenue

When: August 30
Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

Now it's time for a OPM concert. Join December Avenue for Sa Ilalim Ng Mga Bituin, a celebration of the band's 15th anniversary at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The City Lights Symphony Orchestra will also be there, with direction done by Paolo Valenciano, and musical direction done by Nikko Rivera to lend even more tenderness to their hits like "Bulong," "Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-Ibig," and "Kung 'Di Rin Lang."

Secondhand Serenade

When: August 30
Where: New Frontier Theater

May August 30 be the night that you will fall for Secondhand Serenade over again, because the band's vocalist John Vesely will serenade fans with hit songs for a one-night only event. Expect performances of the band's greatest hits like "Fall For You" and "Your Call", which will surely set you out on a nostalgia-fill emo trip to the past.

D.O.

When: August 31 & September 1
Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum

EXO members can always call the Philippines home with how the love of Filipino EXO-Ls endure after all these years. Next up on the EXO-L checklist is crooner D.O., or Doh Kyung-Soo. Unlike typical concerts that feature only songs and performances, Kyung-Soo's Bloon fan concert tour will feature other activities. Demand for Kyung-Soo is so high, another date was announced after the first night sold out, so we're hoping you can score those tickets if you haven't already!
