K-Pop Fans: Waterbomb Festival Is Making a Splash in Manila Soon
Previous festival line-ups included BLACKPINK, aespa, and Sandara Park.
(SPOT.ph) If South Korea says summer isn’t over, then you can bet summer isn’t over. Its homegrown Waterbomb Festival is making its way to Manila this year.
Festival-goers can expect high-energy performances from top K-pop artists, along with water gun battles, water cannon blasts, and interactive pool parties.
“HELLO MANILA! Finally, darating na ang WATERBOMB sa inyo. Ito na ang pinaka inaabangang music festival na mag bibigay sa inyo ng unlimited energy!” Waterbomb Manila posted a teaser on July 9.
The Manila event is part of the festival's international tour for 2024, which includes stops in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and more.

What to expect at the Waterbomb Festival
The Waterbomb Festival has become a summer staple in South Korea since it started in 2015. It has previously featured top-tier K-pop artists like BLACKPINK, aespa, Sandara Park, Sunmi, and Jessi. Although K-Pop has become a huge draw for the event, there’s also plenty of room for hip-hop, dance music, and other live performances on stage, too.
Don’t get carried away with Waterbomb Manila’s other posts of Nayeon and STAYC—they have clarified that the promotional videos do not guarantee that these artists will be part of Manila’s line-up.
That said, details about the venue, date, and lineup for Waterbomb Manila are yet to be announced.
Recently, the Waterbomb Festival concluded a three-day event in Seoul, featuring performances from K-pop artists like Zico, Jay Park, SHINee's Taemin and Minho, Mamamoo's Hwasa, TWICE's Nayeon, Cha Eunwoo, Kwon Eunbi, and Kiss of Life.
If Waterbomb Seoul is any indication for the Manila event, only people over 19 years old are allowed to enter. The main stage also had various water effects, so mobile phones and other electronic devices are required to be stored in a rentable locker.
