PHOTOS: Highlights from Satchmi Vinyl Day 2015
Now, welcome to Record Week!
(SPOT.ph) There were a lot of people with funky colored hair (from blonde to rainbow). There was music. There were drinks. It’s only the third time that Satchmi has hosted Vinyl Day and already it’s a hard habit to quit. We blame that on the convergence of great local acts—Ourselves the Elves, The Diegos, and Autotelic? We don’t have enough thumbs to approve of this party. The crowd at the High Street Amphitheater shared our sentiment and although it took them a while to tap their toes and sway their hips (our guess is that they were more used to listening to records alone—you know the drill), they couldn’t resist the new tracks Ang Bandang Shirley played. And really, who has the ability to keep from moving when a Pedicab song is on?
Check out the scenes from Vinyl Day 2015:
Ang Bandang Shirley treated fans to new music
And fans treating themselves to even more (recorded) music
A darling listening truck, in case you need a break from the crowd
Free music for these folks!
BP Valenzuela, post-technical difficulties, doing what she does best (as heard in her new album, The Neon Hour)
Satchmi also launched #MakeItYours, featuring UV print stickers with which you can, in their words, vandalize your Motorino record player. And in the works: A record with all of your favorite local acts, from Bullet Dumas to Flying Ipis.
If you missed the fun of Vinyl Day, you can check out Satchmi at the Mega Fashion Hall in Megamall and enjoy Record Store Week, with performances from The Sun Manager, Reese Lansangan, Kai Honasan, and more, happening from April 13 to 17. Check out their official Facebook page for more details.
