Get to know the new Amor and Claudia in the latest Pangako Sa 'Yo trailer
The new telenovela is coming very, very soon.
(SPOT.ph) When Pangako Sa 'Yo first aired 15 years ago, it was largely about the love story of Angelo and Yna. There was, however, another juicy storyline that got viewers hooked: the intense rivalry between Amor Powers and Claudia Buenavista (once portrayed by Eula Valdez and Jean Garcia, respectively).
Fans of the older series won't have to wait too long for the premiere of the upcoming remake, airing on May 25 to replace Forevermore. Judging from the latest trailer, the show will be shedding more light on the two characters' respective backgrounds.
Amor (Jodi Sta. Maria) is a barrio lass who meets and falls in love with the scion of a wealthy political family, Eduardo (Ian Veneracion). Sadly, he is set to marry Claudia (Angelica Panganiban) in order to further his political career.
Meanwhile, Claudia is an aspiring beauty queen who only wants to give her mother a comfortable life with her marriage to Eduardo. She eventually finds out that she is an illegitimate daughter of a governor.
The trailer also gave a glimpse of the new Angelo (Daniel Padilla) and Yna (Kathryn Bernardo), the respective children of Amor and Claudia. It is still unclear if the new series will be going with the original's potential half-siblings plot.
Rory Quintos is back in the director's chair, and will also be joined by Olivia M. Lamasan and Dado Lumibao.
