FPJ's Ang Probinsyano is coming to television
Find out who's topbilling the new series!
(SPOT.ph) Fernando Poe Jr. had plenty of memorable roles in his career, including that of Kardo in the 1997 film, Ang Probinsyano.
This time, another actor is set to play the role of "Da King" in a TV adaptation of the movie: Coco Martin. We still don't know how faithful the series will be to the film, but just to refresh your memory, Kardo is a cop who assumes the identity of his twin brother, who was killed in a drug operation.
Martin will be joined by two leading ladies, namely Angeline Quinto and Bela Padilla (who just made the move from GMA Network to ABS-CBN).
Veteran actress and FPJ's widow Susan Roces will also be part of the cast as Martin's grandmother. He apparently got her blessing to portray the FPJ role, saying, "'Di ko makakalimutan noong Walang Hanggan days sabi niya [Roces], 'Alam mo mayroong mga pelikula si FPJ na bagay sa iyo.'"
Other members of the cast include Jaime Fabregas, Arjo Atayde, and Albert Martinez. So far, no release date has been announced.
