Martin Nievera asks: "What has happened to the noontime shows on Sunday?"

He tweeted his remarks on ASAP's new format, and he wasn't happy.

( Many would say that Sunday noontime show ASAP is an institution. For over 20 years, the program has showcased music with segments and concert series like Sessionistas, ASAP Music Room, and ASAP Champions. Martin Nievera has been one of the consistent mainstays of the show through the years, but it looks like he isn't too happy with the show's new format.


He took to Twitter on Sunday (August 23) to ask:



He didn't directly name the show in his first tweet, but he replied to a few comments from his followers:





When some followers alluded to ASAP trying to go with the game show trend, Martin answered:




Aside from the usual concerts, ASAP also does games, a karaoke segment, and dance performances (recently involving a lot of twerking). The show has also delved into skits, with the most recent one involving Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.



Martin, however, stressed that there is always room to experiment with new formats, saying:



ASAP's current rating rivals are GMA Network's Sunday PinaSaya and Wowowin. The show still slightly rates higher than its competitors.
