It's Showtime fans ask Vice Ganda to bring the "old" show back
Some people aren't happy with the show's new Pastillas Girl segment
(SPOT.ph) Despite the popularity of Pastillas Girl's bittersweet pastillas recipe video, it looks like some viewers aren't happy with her recent stint on It's Showtime.
The noontime variety show first featured Angelica Jane Yap asking for love advice from Vice Ganda's character, Madam Bertud. It's Showtime then dedicated subsequent episodes to introducing her to new suitors, setting her up on dates, and even confronting her ex-boyfriend on national TV.
Some fans of the show took to Vice's Instagram account to demand the "old" format back, which included group song and/or dance competitions that were judged by the hosts and guest celebrities.
Still, others defended the show's "Twitterserye." One user wrote, "Pastillas is okay. Stay strong, Vice." Another commented, "'Wag na 'wag kayong makikinig sa mga tao dito na threatened at gusto ibalik ang old segments [...] 'Yong feeling ko ngayon about the show ay 'yong feeling [ko] ulit [noong] i-launch 'yong Showtime."
Earlier, Vice and Anne Curtis welcomed the "healthy competition" between the show and GMA Network's Eat Bulaga. Although the Pastillas Girl segment increased the show's ratings, it reportedly wasn't enough to defeat AlDub.
