The Metro Manila Film Festival logo looks strangely familiar

What would Robert De Niro say?

(SPOT.ph) Inspiration is a wonderful thing, but it looks like someone from the Metro Manila Film Festival was, ahem, a little too inspired.

A Facebook user noticed that the MMFF's new promo material for their website looked strangely familiar. As he pointed out, it looked similar to the logo of the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival (formed by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff). In his caption, he tagged the MMFF's Facebook page and wrote, "Binura niyo pa ang 'Tribeca' at gumamit ng maling typeface (halata po, pramis). At may registered symbol pa." (The MMFF's post has since been deleted.)

The user also posted screenshots of his conversation with someone from MMFF:

As of writing, their new and revamped website is under maintenance. The MMFF has yet to release an official statement on the issue.
