Heneral Luna crosses P200 million mark

We're getting a trilogy, folks!

(SPOT.ph) Here's some awesome news for Pinoy movie fans! Over the weekend, the producers of Heneral Luna announced that the film has earned their target of P200 million at the box office.

In a Facebook post, executive producer Fernando Ortigas and screenwriter-producer Eduardo A. Rocha profusely thanked everyone from "those who called into theaters to bring [the movie] back" to everyone on social media. They both revealed, however, that their "true breakeven point" is at P240 million, perhaps to account for their campaign at the upcoming Oscars, which would require at least U.S. $2 million for a decent run.

After Heneral Luna, Artikulo Uno will be doing two other bayani films to complete the trilogy: Gregorio del Pilar (played by Paulo Avelino in the first movie), and Manuel L. Quezon. In a previous interview, Mon Confiado confirmed that he will be back to play Emilio Aguinaldo in the two films. There's still no word on whether Paulo will reprise his role. (We have our fingers crossed!)

The movie is now on its fourth week in theaters.
