(SPOT.ph) Just one week since its highly anticipated release in theaters, Star Cinema's A Second Chance has already earned a whopping P325 million. So with its box office success comes the inevitable question: Will there be a third chance for Popoy and Basha?
In an interview on Wednesday (December 2), Bea Alonzo said she is willing to reprise her character for a third film...but not immediately. "Kung gugustuhin ko man magkaroon ng third chance, siguro mga eight years from now, or 10 years. Kagaya nitong nangyari sa sequel, hindi ba? Siguro iba na ‘yong pagdadaanan nila noon and siguro mas matured na kami, mas matatanda na kami," she said.
Meanwhile, John Lloyd Cruz also said that he would be happy to play Popoy again. "Kung deserving pa, kung meron pang material na deserving at kung papayag pa sila na magsulat at kung okay pa si Direk [Cathy Garcia-Molina], why not? Ako kasi lagi kong sinasabi kwento muna, ano ang pupuntahan natin," he explained.
In an earlier interview with Boy Abunda, John Lloyd admitted that he was initially skeptical about doing a sequel to the beloved original. "It was terrifying. It's not the usual glossy, promising Star Cinema film, 'di ba? With storytelling like this and a material like this parang it's not very hard to be terrified [sic]," he shared. He also said that playing Popoy gave him a better understanding of relationships.
Both John Lloyd and Bea will be doing separate projects for 2016. The former is set to promote his MMFF entry, Honor Thy Father.
