Cinemalaya lets you catch an outdoor screening and a bike ride in one, just for today
Consider it a concert-slash-bike ride-slash-outdoor screening!
(SPOT.ph) Watching movies, as fun as it may be, isn’t exactly the most productive afternoon activity. But what if you could kick back and enjoy a movie while somehow managing to get a good workout? (And no, we don't mean exercising in front of your TV.)
If you're up for something different this weekend, head to the first-ever Green Carpet event of Cinemalaya, the "SineMusiKalye," a bike ride-concert-outdoor-screening on August 13 at 4 p.m. Bikers and bike enthusiasts can join a ride around the CCP Complex at 4:30 p.m. to be led by Firefly Birgade and Tiklop. Edward Gonzalez of Gig Manila alongside other up-and-coming artists will serenade bikers with the sounds of acoustic OPM. Spoken Word artists such as Jemy Damian and Rod Marmol will perform their hugot, too.
Movie fans can catch an outdoor screening of Lakbay2Love, a coming-of-age romance starring Dennis Trillo and Solenn Heussaff. The film, which doubles as a platform for environmental advocacy, uses biking to tell its story, while giving audiences a picturesque look at beautiful sights around the country. To cap off the evening, event-goers will also be eligible to win goodies.
Best of all, the whole event is on a "pay what you can" basis, and 10% of the earnings will go to the family of road-rage victim and biker Mark Geralde.
