Jasmine Curtis-Smith voices support for LGBT community in Best Actress speech

She played a lesbian in the film, Baka Bukas.


(SPOT.ph) Jasmine Curtis-Smith won the Best Actress trophy at the 2016 Cinema One Originals Festival awards night held on Sunday, November 20, for her role in the movie Baka Bukas.


ABS-CBN News reports that Curtis-Smith, who played a lesbian in love with her best friend in the movie, dedicated her victory to the LGBT community. "Mabuhay ang LGBT community!" Curtis-Smith shouted during her victory speech. She also said, "We have a voice. I am with you guys whether I am LGBT or not. I stand with you guys and I will be with you all the way."
